I don't force every business into the same system. I'll recommend the equipment that makes sense for the size of your premises, the number of users, what you're connecting and what you actually need the network to do.
Your Internet Connection Is Only Part of Your Network
A fast fibre, 5G or Starlink connection doesn't automatically mean you'll have a good business network.
Poor access point placement, overloaded WiFi, old switches, badly configured networks or everything sharing the same connection can cause slow speeds, dropouts and unreliable devices even when the incoming broadband connection is perfectly good.
I look at the whole network — not just the router.
That includes the incoming internet connection, router or gateway, switches, cabling, wireless access points and the devices using them.

Business WiFi & Access Points
Proper WiFi coverage across offices, commercial units and multi-floor premises. I can install multiple centrally managed wireless access points so staff can move throughout the building while staying connected to the same network.
Ideal for: offices, serviced workspaces, salons, studios, retail premises and hospitality.
Network Design & Installation
For new premises, refurbishments or businesses that have outgrown their existing setup. I'll plan the network around how the building is actually used, including access point locations, wired devices, switches, internet equipment and future expansion.
Cat6 & Ethernet Cabling
WiFi is important, but a good business network normally starts with a solid wired backbone. I can install and terminate Cat6 cabling for computers, access points, VoIP phones, printers, TVs, EPOS systems, servers and other fixed devices.
Where practical, keeping fixed equipment wired also frees up WiFi capacity for the devices that actually need it.
VLANs & Separate Networks
Not every device needs to sit on the same network. I can separate different types of traffic using VLANs — staff, guest WiFi, EPOS, IoT & smart devices, and business equipment.
This can improve network organisation and allows appropriate separation between devices and users.
Guest WiFi
Give visitors or customers internet access without simply handing them the password to your main business network. Guest networks can be separated from internal devices and configured appropriately for the premises.
Managed Network Equipment
Your router, switches and access points can be managed centrally rather than treated as unrelated pieces of equipment. With platforms such as UniFi and Omada, I can configure the network, monitor equipment and make changes without needing to physically visit the premises every time something needs adjusting.
UniFi & TP-Link Omada Installation
Two excellent platforms. The right one depends on the job.
I install and work with both Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada business networking equipment. Both platforms can provide centrally managed access points, switches and gateways, making them well suited to businesses that need something more capable than an ISP router or basic consumer WiFi system.
UniFi
UniFi can be a great option for businesses wanting a polished, expandable network with centralised management across gateways, switches and wireless access points.
TP-Link Omada
Omada is another excellent option for business networking and can offer particularly good value when building multi-access-point networks with managed switches, VLANs and central control.

Business WiFi That Covers the Building Properly
One router in the corner of an office isn't always enough. Walls, floors, building materials, neighbouring networks and the number of connected devices can all affect WiFi performance.
Rather than adding random extenders, I can install properly positioned access points connected back to the network wherever practical. This provides more consistent coverage and makes it much easier to expand or manage the network later.
Multi-floor premises?
No problem.
Access points can be positioned throughout the building and managed as one system, rather than having different routers and passwords on every floor.
Networks Built Around How Your Business Works
Small Office
You might simply need reliable WiFi, a few wired computers and a network printer. There's no reason to make that unnecessarily complicated.
Serviced Offices & Shared Workspaces
Multiple businesses occupying the same premises can require completely different network access. Separate networks or VLANs can allow businesses to use the same underlying infrastructure while keeping their network traffic separated.
Retail, Salons & Hospitality
Your EPOS terminals, staff equipment, customers and smart devices shouldn't necessarily all be using the same network. The network can be designed with different uses separated appropriately.

Multiple wired access points can provide consistent WiFi coverage throughout the building while being controlled centrally. This can also be expanded later without replacing the entire system.
Fibre Isn't the Only Option
Sometimes the biggest networking problem isn't inside the building — it's the broadband connection coming into it.
If fibre isn't available or isn't suitable, I can also help businesses explore alternative connectivity including:
- ✓5G broadband
- ✓Starlink
- ✓Secondary / backup internet connections
The best solution isn't always the most expensive one.
For a smaller office with relatively modest requirements, a strong 5G connection may be perfectly adequate. For another location, fibre or Starlink might make more sense.
I'll look at what is actually available and what the business needs rather than recommending technology for the sake of it.
Need Backup Internet?
For businesses that rely heavily on internet access, losing the main connection can stop everything.
Depending on the setup, I can configure a secondary connection such as 4G or 5G to provide another route to the internet if the primary service fails.
Moving Office or Refurbishing a Premises?
This is the best time to get the network right.
If you're refurbishing a commercial property, speak to me before the walls and ceilings are finished. Network cabling, access point locations, data cabinets, PoE equipment and internet connections can all be planned alongside the building work.
