IT Support for Solicitors, Accountants & Professional Services

Practical IT support for small professional firms that need reliable systems without employing their own IT department.

Solicitors, accountants, consultants and architects all depend on the same things working every day: Microsoft 365, client files, email and a network that doesn't drop out mid-task. I look after that so you don't have to.

The Same Few Problems, Every Small Practice

None of these need a full IT department to fix. They need someone who actually looks after them.

Messy Microsoft 365 permissions

Nobody's quite sure who can access which SharePoint sites or shared mailboxes any more, or why.

Joiners and leavers

A new starter needs a laptop and access sorted before Monday. Someone who left three months ago might still be able to log in.

Disorganised OneDrive & SharePoint

Client files scattered across personal OneDrive folders, desktops and email attachments instead of one proper structure.

Laptops nobody's kept updated

Devices that were set up once, years ago, and never configured or updated properly since.

Remote and hybrid working gaps

Staff working from home need the same dependable access to files and email as they'd have in the office.

No one internally owns IT

Whoever's least busy ends up dealing with IT problems on top of their actual job.

How Curly IT Helps

Why This Actually Matters

โœ“

Client work isn't interrupted by IT problems staff shouldn't have to deal with themselves.

โœ“

Access to client files is controlled properly, not left to whoever set it up first.

โœ“

Nobody in the firm has to be the unofficial IT person on top of their actual job.

โœ“

Files are recoverable if something goes wrong, rather than existing in one place only.

Local, Practical, and Actually Reachable

Curly IT works with small professional practices across Edinburgh that need dependable IT without the overhead of a large corporate provider.

On-site support across the city and surrounding areas when a problem needs hands-on attention.

Remote & On-Site

Most day-to-day issues are resolved remotely; on-site when it genuinely needs it.

One Point of Contact

You deal directly with Rob, not a helpdesk queue or a different person each time.

Explained Clearly

No jargon, no fear-based sales pitch. Just what's actually going on and what it'll take to fix.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide legal or regulatory compliance advice?
No. I provide practical IT support: devices, Microsoft 365, networks and backup. For regulatory or compliance advice specific to your profession, you should speak to a specialist in that area; I'm happy to support whatever technical requirements come out of that advice.
Can you manage Microsoft 365 permissions and access for our firm?
Yes. Setting up appropriate access to SharePoint, OneDrive and shared mailboxes, and keeping permissions tidy as staff and case work change, is a core part of what I do.
What happens when a member of staff joins or leaves?
New starters get their Microsoft 365 account, laptop, email and required access set up before they arrive. When someone leaves, their sessions are revoked, the account secured, and access to client files and systems removed properly.
Can you support hybrid or remote-working staff?
Yes. Most day-to-day problems can be resolved remotely, so staff working from home or another office get help quickly, with on-site visits available when needed.
Is our client data backed up?
That depends on what's currently in place, which is exactly what an initial review establishes. I can set up Microsoft 365 backup, device backup and, where appropriate, NAS or off-site backup so client files don't rely on a single copy.
Do you only work with law firms?
No. I work with a range of small professional practices, including solicitors, accountants, consultants, architects and similar firms, that need dependable IT without employing their own IT department.

Ready for IT That Just Works?

Tell me about your practice. How many staff, what you're currently using, and what's causing the most frustration.
